Special features: The Copeland Merchant’s Quay is a 5-year-old single grain whisky from the Copeland Distillery in Ireland. It is bottled at an alcohol content of 46% vol. and offered in the classic 0.7-liter bottle. The whisky matures in ex-bourbon barrels and is presented in its natural color without the addition of coloring agents. This bottling combines the aromas of past maturation processes with a modern touch.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fresh, juicy fruits present themselves, underlaid with a caramelized apple and brown sugar, accompanied by a hint of elderflower and orange.
• Palate: On the palate, it is sweet and spicy with flavors of garden fruits and milk cream, complemented by black, ripe cherries with honey as well as warm wood and granola.
• Finish: The finish shows notes of dry sherry, accompanied by brown sugar and mild spice.

Distillery/Bottler: The Copeland Distillery was founded in 2019 in Donaghadee, County Down, Northern Ireland, by Gareth Irvine. The distillery is located in a spacious building that was previously used as a cinema and for the Ards Bottling Company and had been unused for over 20 years. In addition to whisky, the distillery also produces gin and rum and plans to offer its first whiskies starting in 2024. The current whisky matures in a combination of ex-bourbon, moscatel, and PX sherry casks.
