Special Features:

This eighteen-year-old single-cask whisky was matured entirely in Bourbon Hogshead 315075. It was distilled on 15 December 2005 and bottled by Artful Dodger on 28 August 2024 at a cask strength of 54.4%. The cask yielded 330 bottles of 0.5 litres each. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Ripe apple, honey and orange peel shape the opening. Vanilla and cask spices complement the nose, followed on the palate by malty sweetness, juicy pear, apple, pepper and polished oak. A long, dry finish with oak spice completes the profile.

Distillery/Bottler:

Craigellachie was built in 1890 by a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie and began production in 1891. The distillery is located in Banffshire, in the heart of Speyside between Rothes and Dufftown, above the confluence of the Fiddich and Spey. Its traditional worm-tub condensers contribute to the distillate’s distinctive, robust and meaty character.

Craigellachie Distillery produced the malt distilled in 2005; Artful Dodger later selected Bourbon Hogshead 315075 for this independent single-cask bottling. The bottler focuses on rare, hard-to-find casks and releases their whisky at full cask strength as limited editions.
