The finish in first-fill Madeira hogshead no. 208 shapes this 17-year-old bottling from the Cask Strength Collection. The whisky was distilled on 20 January 2009 and bottled on 26 March 2026.

Cask no. 208 yielded 301 bottles at 55.2%. The whisky has neither added colouring nor chill filtration, and the 0.7-litre bottle comes in a metal tin.

The sensory profile combines ripe peach and apple with malty sweetness and walnut. Candied citrus fruit, raisins and warm spices lead into a nutty, fruity aftertaste with a subtle woody accent.

Distillery/Bottler:

Craigellachie is located in Banffshire, in the heart of Speyside, between Rothes and Dufftown and above the confluence of the Fiddich and Spey. Designed by Charles Doig, the distillery began operating in 1891. To this day, it condenses its distillation vapours in traditional worm tubs, whose comparatively limited copper contact contributes to the distillery’s robust, meaty character.

The Scottish company Signatory Vintage operates as an independent whisky bottler. Its range includes the Cask Strength Collection and the Un-Chillfiltered Collection, among others. For this cask-strength release, Signatory Vintage bottled the single malt distilled at Craigellachie from cask no. 208.
