Special features: This miniature set combines three single malt Irish whiskeys matured in different virgin oak casks: Irish oak (Quercus petraea), European oak (Quercus robur), and American white oak (Quercus alba). Founded in 2020, the Croithlí distillery uses a large Irish distillery as its base, but finishes the whiskeys in the Crolly Distillery warehouse in Donegal. The different wood types impart individual and distinctive wood aromas to each dram, making this tasting a diverse journey of flavors.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sessile with sweet vanilla, caramel, green apples and lemon sorbet; Quercus Alba with apricot, cherry blossom and nutmeg; Quercus Robur with red currants and winter spices such as ginger and clove.
• Palate: Sessile displays sweet, woody oak and grape notes; Quercus Alba surprises with green fruit notes, wood, and vanilla; Quercus Robur is fruity and spicy with pronounced wood notes.
• Finish: Sessile finishes in crème brûlée, black pepper, and tannins; Quercus Alba with a dry, spicy, complex finish; Quercus Robur offers a dry finish with wood smoke and dark chocolate.

Distillery/Bottler: The young Croithlí distillery was founded in 2020 and uses an established Irish distillery as its production base. Finishing takes place at the Crolly Distillery in Donegal, known for its unique cask aging in various virgin oak casks. This combination combines traditional Irish whiskey craftsmanship with innovative aging approaches that significantly influence the whiskey's characteristics.
