Daftmill 2013/2026 - 12 y.o. - Summer Release
Special features: The Daftmill 2013/2026 - 12 years - Summer Release is a single malt whisky from the Scottish Lowlands region. The bottling took place in June 2026, after the whisky was distilled in the summer of 2013. It matured for over twelve years in selected first-fill bourbon casks, which were stored in the distillery's dunnage warehouse. Daftmill is known for its limited production, which takes place during the quieter agricultural periods and uses barley grown on its own farm as well as water from an artesian spring.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: On the nose, fresh green apples, lemon peel, kaffir lime leaves, sour candies, and poached pears present themselves in a light, fresh white wine.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky is soft and balanced, with ripe stone fruits and creamy notes of pastry, rounded off by a clear, light sweetness.
- Finish: The finish remains pleasantly dry and shows malt, gentle spice, and a hint of fruity freshness.
Distillery/Bottler: The Daftmill Distillery is a family-run farm distillery in Fife, Scotland. The distillery produces its whisky exclusively from Concerto barley, which is grown on its own farm. The distillation is overseen by Francis and Ian Cuthbert. Daftmill uses first-fill bourbon casks for maturation, which significantly shapes the whisky's flavor.
