This twelve-year-old Dailuaine is a small-batch bottling drawn from four casks of whisky distilled in 2011. The Single Malts of Scotland bottled it in 2024 at 48%. The four-cask parcel comprises a New Oak Barrel, a Sherry Hogshead and a Sherry Butt. This 0.7-litre bottling is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Dark fruit and raisins meet vanilla, malt, nuts and cocoa. The new oak contributes vanilla and a fresh wood character, while the sherry casks add sweetness, dried fruit and warm spice. Together, the cask types give the whisky a creamy, robust structure.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines dark fruit and raisins with sherry spice, vanilla and malty depth.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky offers rich sherry sweetness, dried fruit, spices and nutty accents, complemented by creamy wood notes and subtle vanilla.
• Finish: The finish is medium to long, warm and fruit-forward, with spicy oak and lingering sherry depth.

Distillery/Bottler:

Dailuaine stands on the Carron Burn, south-west of Aberlour and close to the River Spey. The farmer William Mackenzie had the distillery built in the 1850s. Rapid distillation and condensers incorporating stainless steel reduce copper contact and help shape a full-bodied spirit that is used predominantly in blends, with only a small proportion released as single malt.

The Single Malts of Scotland is a bottling brand owned by Elixir Distillers. For this Dailuaine, the independent bottler selected four casks and combined the whisky into a small batch.
