Special Features:

This twelve-year-old Dailuaine combines the single malt’s pronounced malty character with the intense influence of a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. The spirit was distilled in October 2013 and matured in hogshead 327421/2013 before the whisky was bottled in October 2025.

The Old Friends released 289 bottles at 50.8%. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The black bottle features red silhouettes inspired by Bonnie & Clyde.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, plum, fig and raisins mingle with creamy malt, brown sugar, caramel and honey. Baked apple and delicate pastry complement the fruit, while walnut, light leather, cocoa, orange zest, gentle spices and subtle woody notes add further accents.
• Palate: The whisky is creamy, full-bodied and structured on the palate. Powerful sherry notes, dark raisins, candied orange, date and toffee meet nuts, caramel, sherry-seasoned oak, espresso and black tea; mild spices and a delicate bitter note give the profile definition.
• Finish: The long finish remains fruity, spicy and creamy at the same time. Dark chocolate, walnut skin, cocoa and sherry are accompanied by delicate woody bitterness and lingering warmth before the fruit fades on a dry note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Dailuaine was founded by William Mackenzie in 1852. Located between Ben Rinnes and the River Spey near Aberlour, the Speyside distillery produces a robust, malt-forward spirit. As a large share of its production has traditionally been destined for blends, independent single-cask releases offer a comparatively rare opportunity to experience the distillery’s distinctive character in its own right.

Dailuaine produced the single malt, while Michel Reick independently bottled the whisky from hogshead 327421/2013 under The Old Friends.
