Special features: The Dalmore Quartet is a limited release from the renowned Scottish distillery Dalmore, known for its masterful cask maturation. This single malt whisky has been refined in four different types of casks: First-Fill Ex-Bourbon casks, 30-year-old Matusalem and Apostoles sherry casks, as well as Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon casks. This unique combination gives it a complex and balanced flavor profile.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet vanilla, candied blood oranges, and a hint of dried fruits, accompanied by ripe red grapes.
- Palate: Balanced and complex with notes of Christmas cake, sherry, raisins, and spicy licorice, underpinned by a light sweetness.
- Finish: Long-lasting with aromas of raspberries, chocolate, and a hint of sherry.
Distillery/Bottler: The Dalmore Distillery, founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, is located near Alness in the northern Highlands of Scotland. It is known for its innovative and exquisite whiskies, created through careful cask maturation and masterful craftsmanship. Since 1879, the distillery has been owned by the Mackenzie family, whose crest, the stag, still adorns the bottles today.
