Special Features:

Dalmore Quintet combines initial maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon casks with five wine-driven finishes. This first phase creates a foundation of soft vanilla and honey. The whisky is then divided among Moscatel casks, Malmsey Madeira casks, casks seasoned with 30-year-old Matusalem Sherry, casks seasoned with 10-year-old Tawny Port and Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon barriques. The five separately finished parcels are subsequently brought together in a single composition bottled at 44.5%. Quintet was introduced as a permanent expression for global travel retail.

The whisky opens with English orange marmalade, ripe plum and buttercream cake. Honey-glazed nectarine, caramelised pineapple and toffee lead into mango and coconut. Colombian coffee, maple syrup and ground almonds follow in the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Dalmore Distillery is located in Alness on the Cromarty Firth in the northern Highlands and traces its history to a distillery established by Sir Alexander Matheson in 1839. Its four wash stills have flat heads. The cooled necks of the spirit stills increase reflux and contribute to the distinctive character of the spirit.

Quintet is an official bottling from The Dalmore. Whyte & Mackay introduced it alongside Trio and Quartet, which were also developed for global travel retail. The three names refer to three, four and five cask finishes respectively.
