A finish in custom-made Oloroso sherry octaves defines this eight-year-old single malt from an unnamed Speyside distillery. The whisky first matures in ex-bourbon casks, then spends at least three months in first-fill sherry octaves holding around 50 litres each. Their interior wood surface is larger relative to the volume of whisky than in larger casks, allowing the finish to have a marked effect in a comparatively short time.

Candied orange provides a bright contrast to cherry, raisin and plum. Nuts, chocolate, spices, roasted notes and earthy oak add to the fruity sherry character; a slightly oily texture and a faint trace of smoke emerge on the finish. The whisky is bottled at 47.8% ABV without chill filtration or added colouring.

• Nose: On the nose, candied orange peel and dried cherry mingle with chocolate-coated peanuts and warm spices.
• Palate: The palate brings amaretti, pronounced raisin notes and plum, joined by subtle roasted notes and a touch of earthy oak.

The eight-year-old Speyside single malt was introduced in early 2020 as a continuing release alongside the earlier individual editions.
