Special Features:

This small batch brings together three selected PX and Oloroso sherry butts. The Deanston was distilled in 2020 and bottled in 2025 after five years at 48%, without colouring or chill filtration.

The two types of sherry cask shape the profile in different ways: Oloroso contributes spice, while PX accentuates dark chocolate and ripe fruit. Malt, dried fruit, nuts and vanilla complete a creamy, sherry-forward character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with pronounced notes of warm malt and ripe dried fruit, accompanied by nuts and a delicate hint of vanilla.
• Palate: The whisky is creamy and full-bodied on the palate, where ripe fruit and dark chocolate meet layered spice and distinct sherry notes.
• Finish: The medium-length finish combines dry, nutty aromas with malty sweetness and piquant spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Deanston has operated in a former cotton mill on the River Teith since 1966. The river's water is used to make the whisky and also powers the distillery's hydroelectric plant. Its production methods include the exclusive use of Scottish barley, an open mash tun and fermentations lasting up to 100 hours.

Elixir Distillers is an independent producer, blender and bottler and operates The Single Malts of Scotland as its own range. Sukhinder Singh bottled his first cask of whisky in 2002, and his subsequent search for exceptional single malt casks laid the foundation for the brand. Elixir Distillers selected three Deanston casks for this small batch.
