Dingle Orange & Sea Salt combines the botanicals of the classic Dingle Gin with a separately produced orange distillate and sea salt. Selected Spanish oranges are washed, cut and deseeded. After soaking in alcohol, they are distilled in a small copper still; the orange distillate is then blended with Dingle Gin.

For the salt, the distillery works with West of Dingle Sea Salt, a family business on the Dingle Peninsula. The unrefined sea salt, harvested by hand from the Atlantic, is added to the finished gin, lending a subtle mineral note. The gin is bottled at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle.

• Palate: Lively citrus notes lead on the palate, balanced by gentle floral nuances.
• Finish: The finish is clean and refreshing. Citrus freshness lingers, accompanied by a subtle salty note.

Distillery/Bottler:

The independent Dingle Distillery is based in Dingle on Ireland’s Atlantic coast. Oliver Hughes, Liam LaHart and Peter Mosley founded it in 2012, having previously been active in the Irish craft beer scene. Their aim was to bring whiskey production back to small batches. Alongside Single Malt and Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, the distillery also produces gin and vodka.

The distillery’s classic gin recipe includes rowan berries, hawthorn berries, heather, and orange and lemon peel. This botanical base is retained in Orange & Sea Salt; the additional orange distillate and sea salt give this variant its distinctive accents.
