With no cask ageing, Don Julio Blanco puts agave centre stage. This Mexican silver tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave and double-distilled in pot stills. Its fresh citrus character and light agave sweetness make it suitable for a Margarita, sipping neat or enjoying over ice.

Alongside agave and citrus, there are fruity hints, herbal notes and a touch of black pepper. This bottling contains 38% alcohol and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals fresh agave with subtle hints of lemon, lime and grapefruit.
• Palate: On the palate, the agave feels light and gently sweet. Cooked agave notes mingle with herbs and citrus.
• Finish: A light, gently sweet agave impression lingers on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Don Julio's story began in 1942 with Don Julio González and the La Primavera distillery in Atotonilco El Alto, in the highlands of Jalisco. Warm days, cool nights and clay-rich soils shape agave cultivation there. Rather than harvesting an entire field at once, the jimadores assess the ripeness and condition of each individual agave and remove its leaves by hand.

The house's methods include slowly cooking the agaves in masonry ovens, fermenting with a yeast strain developed by Don Julio González and distilling twice in copper pot stills. The agaves come from both its own fields and certified contract suppliers within the protected tequila designation of origin area; their provenance is documented through to processing.
