Special Features:

This 0.2-litre bottling of the ten-year-old Distillery Edition was fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 46%, the Highland Single Malt retains its natural colour and is not chill-filtered. The small bottle format therefore offers the same full-bodied, approachable character as the standard edition.

Ripe fruit, dried fruit, raisins, figs and orange form the fruity side of the profile. Almonds, marzipan, honey, golden syrup, toffee and chocolate add nutty and sweet accents, while vanilla, malt, cereal and espresso provide further depth. Spiced fruitcake, oak, wood, leather and mild spices create a slightly dry, warming counterpoint.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, warm malt notes and ripe fruit combine with gentle sweetness, dried fruit, Oloroso and almonds, complemented by a hint of oak.
• Palate: The whisky is rounded and full-bodied on the palate. Vanilla, cereal, dried fruit and delicate spices meet spiced fruitcake, golden syrup and a light note of honey and almond.
• Finish: The finish is pleasantly long, soft and slightly dry, with wood, oak and mild spices accompanying the warming aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edradour is located near Pitlochry in Perthshire and was founded in 1825 as a cooperative of local farmers. The distillery continues to operate in its original farm buildings with small-scale traditional equipment. This includes an open mash tun, Oregon pine washbacks, two copper pot stills and worm tubs cooled with water from the Edradour Burn.

The ten-year-old Single Malt is distilled, fully matured and bottled at Edradour. The distillery therefore carries out every essential production step at the same site; according to Edradour, its small stills contribute to the whisky’s full mouthfeel.
