Special features: This 12-year-old single malt whisky has matured in ten carefully selected first-fill Madeira hogsheads and impresses with its natural color as well as the absence of chill filtration. With an increased alcohol content of 48.2% vol., it unfolds an intense and complex flavor profile.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet notes of barley sugar candies and dried fruits like raisins and figs caress the nose. Behind them are spicy honey, caramel, fresh herbs, and a hint of wood.
- Palate: Velvety and luxurious, juicy fruitcake and real vanilla blend with creamy toffee, butterscotch, honey, and homemade jam. Peeled almonds and fresh accents of citrus zest round off the impressions.
- Finish: In the gentle and long-lasting finish, warm pastries, sweet dried fruits, garden herbs, and a bit of oak spice remain.
Distillery/Bottler: Edradour, one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, is known for its traditional production method and the use of small copper pot stills. Since 2002, Edradour has been back in independent ownership and regularly produces exciting single malts.
