Special features: This limited single malt whisky from the renowned Edradour distillery was distilled in 2012 and matured for 12 years in first-fill Pinot Noir casks from the esteemed winery St. Michael Eppan in South Tyrol. Bottled in January 2025, only 1,422 bottles of this unique whisky were filled. The combination of Scottish craftsmanship and Italian wine tradition gives this whisky a special depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of ripe red berries, dark cherries, and raisins, accompanied by a hint of cinnamon and vanilla.
- Palate: Soft and complex with notes of blackberry jam, mocha, spice cake, and fine wine tannins. Very round and full.
- Finish: Medium to long with a spicy-fruity aftertaste, accompanied by wood notes, candied fruits, and dark honey.
Distillery/Bottler: The Edradour Distillery, founded in 1825, is one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland and is known for its artisanal production. It is idyllically located by the Edradour River, surrounded by hills east of Pitlochry. Edradour produces exceptional Highland single malt whiskies that are valued for their depth and complexity.
