El Ron Prohibido 22 + Wooden Stand
Special Features: El Ron Prohibido is an ultra-premium rum from Mexico that is aged using the Solera method. It utilizes 22 carefully selected American oak barrels, which are filled with pecan and almond shells as well as peaches from Zacatecas. The Guarapo, the freshly pressed juice of the sugarcane, is also used. This unique barrel combination brings out complex aromas and is presented in an extravagant packaging.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose offers aromatic notes of sugarcane syrup, vanilla, peach, and cocoa, accompanied by caramel, pecans, almonds, anise, cinnamon, cloves, and wood, followed by smoky hints.
- Palate: On the palate, peach, vanilla, clove, sugarcane syrup, caramel, almonds, pecans, and mint unfold, combined with wood and smoky tobacco notes as well as a hint of caramel.
- Finish: The finish is long and warm with subtle hints of caramel and wood.
Distillery/Bottler: The brand El Ron Prohibido comes from the eponymous distillery, known for its top-quality rums. The Reserva 22 combines outstanding flavors with a traditional aging method. Through the Solera method, the rum is carefully produced, and the combination of the different barrel contents contributes to its character. As an original bottling, this rum represents the quality and sophistication of Mexican rum craftsmanship.
