EMILL Feinwerk is a Black Forest single malt from the historic Scheibel mill in Kappelrodeck. Three years of initial maturation are followed by a 100-day finish in a cask that Scheibel itself had previously seasoned with port wine. The whisky is bottled at 42% without chill filtration or added colouring and comes in gift packaging.

During maturation on two floors of the mill, the casks are exposed to winter cold, summer warmth and humidity from the River Acher. The smooth, oily style combines dark fruit, cocoa and candied citrus with delicate wood notes and a subtle hint of sweet smoke.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals plum, blackcurrant and blueberry with dry, earthy nuances, vanilla, cocoa, delicate wood notes and a subtle hint of sweet smoke.
• Palate: The whisky is smooth and balanced on the palate, with a lightly creamy, oily texture; mature port wine, cocoa, milk chocolate and candied citrus combine with gentle wood spice.
• Finish: The finish is long and dry, with notes of brandy and pronounced dark chocolate shaping the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Emil Scheibel Schwarzwald-Brennerei GmbH produces EMILL Feinwerk for its own EMILL brand and bottles the whisky itself. Since 2014, whisky has been double-distilled in hand-hammered copper pot stills with swan necks at the historic Scheibel mill. It then matures on two floors of the building, where the differing climatic conditions influence its maturation in the cask.
