Special Features:

This five-year-old single malt matures in the historic Scheibel mill in Kappelrodeck. The whisky is bottled at cask strength at 58.7% in a 0.05-litre miniature. It is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

EMILL is double-distilled in hand-hammered copper pot stills with swan necks. The historic four-storey mill serves as EMILL’s maturation site, where winter cold, summer warmth and the humidity of the Acher shape the climate.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, caramel and fresh citrus notes mingle with subtle hints of wood.
• Palate: The palate reveals malty depth, milk chocolate and the spicy sweetness of dark forest honey, while oak remains in the background.
• Finish: The finish is long and leaves a gentle warmth.

Distillery/Bottler:

The roots of Emil Scheibel Schwarzwald-Brennerei lie in the family mill in Kappelrodeck’s Grüner Winkel district. In 1921, Emil Scheibel founded his own distillery just a few metres away. After milling operations ceased in 1986, Michael Scheibel later had the building renovated and extended for whisky production. A dedicated distillery there is used exclusively for Scheibel whisky, and master distiller Frank Blechschmidt produced the first distillates at the end of 2014. The distillery produces EMILL in this whisky mill, where the whisky also matures before being released as an official bottling.
