Emperor Lily White acquires its transparent appearance only after cask maturation: charcoal filtration removes the colour from this rum based on Emperor Heritage. The result is a white rum made from aged spirits, with a character shaped not only by fresh sugarcane notes but also by oak spice and fruit.

The blend brings together rums made from sugarcane juice and molasses, as well as pot-still and column-still distillates. Its constituent rums have been aged for up to twelve years; this describes the oldest rum in the blend, not the minimum age of the blend as a whole. Lily White is bottled at 42%, with 0.7 litres per bottle, and is also suitable for cocktails.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sugarcane notes meet spicy hints of oak and peppermint.
• Palate: The rum feels delicate and lightly effervescent on the palate. Apple notes mingle with damp blossoms, almond, pear and citrus fruit.
• Finish: Honey notes mingle with spice on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Emperor creates blends of aged Mauritian rums. The brand's approach includes selecting the base rums, blending them and maturation in French oak casks. For the cask finishes of various editions, Emperor works with wine estates, using red wine casks from Bernard Magrez and Sauternes casks from Chateau Clos Haut-Peyraguey, among others. Lily White is based on Emperor Heritage and gains its distinctive character through subsequent charcoal filtration.

The brand is based in Black River, Mauritius. Its name and the portrait of King George V refer to the island's British history. Bringing together different rum traditions is part of Emperor's concept: sugarcane juice and molasses provide different base distillates for the blends.
