Special Features:

Entire maturation in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks shapes this non-smoky single malt from Norfolk. Distilled in June 2016, the whisky was bottled in September 2024 as batch SB-3-24. The release comprises 1,236 bottles of 0.7 litres at 46%, each presented in gift packaging. The whisky contains no added colouring and was not chill-filtered.

Toffee and sultanas lend the cask profile a dark sweetness. Milk chocolate, mocha and dried plum join them, while oak spice provides a spicy counterpoint. Fig and cocoa round out the fruit and chocolate notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, raisins and plums mingle with dark chocolate, caramel and a light hint of roasted nuts.
• Palate: The whisky feels round and soft on the palate. Caramel and chocolate come through first, followed by oak spice, dried fruit and a light mocha flavour.
• Finish: The medium-long to long finish leaves oak spice, dark chocolate and a gentle lingering note of dried figs.

Distillery/Bottler:

The English Distillery is a family-run distillery in Roudham, Norfolk. When it began operating in 2006, it was England’s first registered, operational whisky distillery in more than 100 years. It draws water from a spring beneath its grounds and stores its selected maturation casks on site. The distillery also made the whisky for SB-3-24 itself and released it as a distillery bottling.
