Special Features:

Presented in the new bottle shape, this release comes from cask 6 and is part of Eimverk's Icelandic rye project from the 2019 distillation year. The mash is made entirely from rye grown on the family farm in Holtum, while distillation took place in Garðabær.

The whisky matured in a new oak cask with a capacity of 130 litres. This virgin oak cask was stored in an unheated barn near the Hekla volcano, where it was exposed to Iceland's pronounced temperature fluctuations. The fresh oak shapes the profile with intense vanilla, distinctive wood spice and subtle sweetness.

Cask 6 yielded 580 bottles. The whisky has an alcohol content of 43%, is chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, spicy rye and herbs meet intense vanilla, honey and pronounced oak. Green bell pepper and subtle orchard fruit add fresh accents.
• Palate: The whisky is dry and creamy on the palate. Rye spice, vanilla and honey combine with well-integrated warmth, fresh oak and restrained sweetness.
• Finish: The medium-length finish remains spicy and oak-forward, with delicate liquorice and vanilla lingering elegantly.

Distillery/Bottler:

The family-run Eimverk Distillery was founded in 2009 and produces Icelandic spirits from local raw materials in Garðabær. To develop its whiskies, the distillery designed its own stills and conducted numerous experimental distillations and maturation trials. With Eth Rye, this local approach extends from growing the rye on the family farm in Holtum to distillation and cask maturation in Iceland.
