Special features: The Fettercairn Vanguard Single Malt represents the beginning of the innovative Vanguard Series from the Fettercairn Distillery. This single malt has been aged for 14 years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and then refined for two years in custom-made hybrid oak casks. These hybrid casks combine American oak with heads made from Scottish Highland oak, resulting in a unique tasting experience.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Warm floral honey, ripe pineapple, Alphonso mangoes, fine fresh raspberries, and delicate pastry spices.
- Palate: Lively balance of fresh and exotic tropical fruits such as grilled pineapple, mangoes, and dried apricots, accompanied by fine spicy wood notes.
- Finish: A long, harmonious finish with notes of red berries and cassia cinnamon that rounds off the enjoyment.
Distillery/Bottler: The Fettercairn Distillery, founded in 1824, is beautifully located in the Scottish Highlands. It is known for its technical refinements, particularly the unique copper cooling rings that shape the distillation process and enhance the characteristic tropical character of its whiskies.
