This ten-year-old Finlaggan comes from ex-bourbon hogshead number 318519. The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. Ltd. bottled the whisky in February 2026 at its natural cask strength of 52.5%; the single cask yielded 330 bottles of 0.7 litres each. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Its sensory profile ranges from lemony peat smoke, cinnamon and dark tar through powerful sea salt, burning oak and maritime notes to a long, dry finish with peat ash and charred wood.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, pronounced peat smoke and lemon combine with spicy cinnamon and dark tar.
• Palate: On the palate, powerful sea salt and an intense impression of burning oak meet maritime notes of shellfish and bitter lemon peel.

The Islay distillery behind this single malt is not disclosed. The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. Ltd. is responsible for Finlaggan and is an independent bottler founded by Brian Crook in 1992. Finlaggan is the company’s flagship brand and has been part of its story from the beginning. The brand name refers to Loch Finlaggan, the historic seat of the Lords of the Isles on Islay.
