Finlaggan Cask Strength in GP

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 58% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: Yes

Special Features:

Finlaggan Cask Strength is bottled at a cask strength of 58%. This heavily smoky Islay single malt is coloured and chill-filtered; the 0.7-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

The powerful opening of peat smoke, smoked bacon and leather gives way to sweet smoke, iodine, lemon zest and tarry peat. An oily, mouth-filling texture accompanies the palate before pepper, soot and ash define the long, warming finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Penetrating peat smoke emerges on the nose, accompanied by smoked bacon and a hint of old leather.
• Palate: On the palate, rich, sweet smoke, iodine and lemon zest combine with an oily, mouth-filling texture and waves of tarry peat.
• Finish: Peppery peat, soot and ash linger in the long, warming finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Vintage Malt Whisky Company Limited bottles Finlaggan Cask Strength. Founded by Brian Crook in 1992, the company operates as an independent bottler, and Finlaggan was one of the brands with which its story began. The brand name refers to Loch Finlaggan, the historic seat of the Lords of the Isles on Islay. The single malt comes from an undisclosed distillery on the island.
