Special Features:

Flor de Caña Spresso combines aged rum with natural coffee essence from Nicaraguan beans. Its base is seven-year-old Flor de Caña rum; the age therefore refers to the rum, not to seven years of maturation of the finished liqueur.

This caffeine-free liqueur has a light body and a deep black colour. At 16% alcohol, it can be enjoyed chilled or over ice and used to add coffee flavour to cocktails such as a Spresso Martini. The bottle contains 0.7 litres.

• Palate: On the palate, bold coffee flavour takes centre stage, accompanied by light sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Flor de Caña began in 1890 at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano in Nicaragua. Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa, who had come to Nicaragua from Genoa, established rum production there. The company remains family-owned and is now run by the fifth generation.

The sugar cane fields, distillery and ageing warehouses are on the family-owned estate near the Pacific coast. Flor de Caña matures its rum in bourbon barrels assembled by hand in its own cooperage. During ageing, the warm tropical climate influences the interaction between the rum and the cask wood.
