Distilled in 2007, this Glen Elgin completed its 18-year maturation in Moscatel Hogshead #3800321. Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled the whisky at cask strength in 2025 at 57.4%. Limited to 162 bottles, this release belongs to the Crafted in Cask series and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Glen Elgin’s fruity yet weighty spirit, shaped in part by worm-tub condensers, meets the influence of the Moscatel cask. Coastal smoke and sweet peat embers provide a smoky counterpoint to the fruit, while apple and orange marmalade lead into dates, sultanas, caramelised nuts and nutmeg.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together crisp green apple, dates and warm brown sugar with bitter orange marmalade.
• Palate: Golden sultanas, caramelised nuts and stone fruit seasoned with nutmeg unfold on the palate within a silky, honey-rich texture.
• Finish: The long finish allows dried fruit and nutmeg to linger before ending with a delicate echo of sweet cherries.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1898, Glen Elgin Distillery stands near Fogwatt, around three miles south of Elgin in Speyside. Its whiskies are known for their fresh, fruity character, while traditional worm-tub condensers give the spirit additional depth and weight. Berry Bros. & Rudd was founded in 1698 and is Great Britain’s oldest wine and spirits merchant. The London company released this Glen Elgin as a single-cask bottling in its Crafted in Cask series.
