This twelve-year-old Glen Moray from the Heritage range matures entirely in carefully selected American oak casks. For its bourbon cask maturation, the distillery sources its casks from a single distillery in Kentucky. The oak contributes vanilla sweetness and oak aromas, while berries and dark fruit give the single malt its fruity character. It is bottled at 40%.

Vanilla toffee and floral notes shape the aroma. Alongside the berries, a malty note emerges on the nose; the palate brings summer fruit, toasted oak and gentle spice. Vanilla meets oak spice on the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers vanilla toffee and berries, accompanied by delicate floral notes and a malty note.
• Palate: Toasted oak and pronounced dark fruit mingle with creamy, lightly toasted vanilla on the palate. Summer fruit and gentle spice complete the impression.
• Finish: The finish is soft and balanced, leaving sweet vanilla and spicy oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Moray stands in Elgin on the River Lossie. The distillery was established in 1897 from the former Elgin West Brewery; it used different types of cask even for its first spirit. The Heritage range, including this twelve-year-old single malt, was introduced in 2016.

Glen Moray uses malted barley and water from the River Lossie. After around 60 hours of fermentation, the spirit is distilled twice in copper stills; only the heart of the run goes into casks for maturation. The distillery uses various types of cask across its range, but this Heritage 12 matures entirely in American oak. It is bottled by the distillery itself.
