Special Features:

The 15-year-old Elgin Heritage brings together two equal-sized parcels of whisky matured separately in different casks: one spends its entire maturation in American oak, the other in Oloroso sherry casks. Bourbon and sherry cask maturation therefore take place separately, rather than consecutively with a final finishing period. Dried fruit, dark chocolate and spice characterise the combination of the two parcels.

This official bottling contains 0.7 litres of whisky with 40% alcohol and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sherry-rich oak and butter toffee combine with subtle hints of dark chocolate and mixed spices.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied on the palate. Wine-like notes with a delicate oak influence meet spicy dark chocolate and a hint of smoke.
• Finish: Oak remains prominent on the intense finish as the sweetness of dried fruit gradually fades.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Moray Distillery is located in Elgin in Speyside. It developed from the Elgin West Brewery, which had brewed beer since 1830. The first distillation took place on 13 September 1897. Even then, spirit made from local barley was filled into various cask types, including Marsala and sherry casks. A variety of cask maturation styles has therefore been part of the distillery's history from the outset.

In 1999, Glen Moray released its first whiskies with Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc finishes. The Heritage Collection, introduced in 2016, instead focuses on mature single malts of different ages. Its first bottlings included the 12-, 15- and 18-year-old whiskies. The separate maturation and subsequent marrying of the whiskies in the 15-year-old draw on the distillery's long experience with different casks.
