Special Features:

Six First Fill Bourbon Barrels form the basis of this small cask selection from Artist Collective. Distilled at Glen Ord in 2012, the Single Malt matured for nine years before being bottled in 2022 at 43%. It brings together whisky from several casks rather than being a single-cask bottling.

Edition 6.3 features Peinture Ideographique III by Yanis Khannoussi. Purple lines against a yellow background define the label, and the bottle containing 0.7 litres comes in gift packaging. The whisky is non-chill filtered and contains no colouring.

Fresh floral and fruit notes meet vanilla and a pronounced herbal character. Medicinal touches also contribute to this bottling's character. A malty underlying note complements the lively spice on the palate.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, pear, watercress and walnut combine with vanilla and freshly cut hay. Orange blossom and hyacinths add floral accents.
• Palate: The palate opens brightly with star anise, nutmeg and clove. Herbs, pear, apple and citrus then emerge, accompanied by vanilla and menthol.
• Finish: The long finish feels velvety. Herbal notes linger, accompanied by gentle honey sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1838, Glen Ord is near Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery belongs to Diageo and is now also known through The Singleton of Glen Ord. The site includes a drum maltings where barley is processed into malt. Alongside distillation, visitors can therefore learn about an earlier stage of whisky production.

La Maison du Whisky was founded by Georges Benitah in 1956 and opened a shop on Rue d'Anjou in Paris in 1968. As an independent bottler, it is responsible for Artist Collective: since 2017, this range has combined small assemblages of casks from different Scottish distilleries with contemporary art. Different regions, maturation approaches and whisky styles sit side by side, with labels featuring works by selected artists.
