Glen Scotia 15 Years
Special Features: This 15-year-old Glen Scotia is distinguished by its maturation in the finest American oak barrels. The non-chill-filtered bottling preserves the full aroma and provides an intense tasting experience from the historic distillery in Campbeltown.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich golden color, aromas of citrus peels and ginger snap cookies, accompanied by sweet, profound notes. Apricot aromas develop and transform into a fruity salad. As it progresses, woody nuances emerge, and water enhances baked fruit notes.
Palate: A complex flavor palette, initially surprisingly dry in contrast to the fruity nose. With an increasing finish, caramel notes unfold, harmoniously balanced with the expected woodiness of a 15-year-old whisky. The addition of water intensifies these nuances.
Finish: Strong and slightly dry.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glen Scotia Distillery, located in the historic whisky region of Campbeltown, is one of the smaller, traditional distilleries in Scotland. Since the 19th century, it has maintained the Campbeltown-typical style and emphasizes careful cask maturations that shape the character of its whiskies.
