Special Features:

This Glen Spey matured for thirteen years in a first-fill white wine barrique. It was distilled on 5 January 2012 and bottled from cask 800029 on 16 May 2025. Limited to 230 bottles, this single-cask release was bottled at a cask strength of 56.7%; the whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Ripe orchard fruit and floral notes combine with vanilla, a vinous character, oak and spice. The cask maturation also creates a lively, tannic structure.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals ripe apples, floral notes, vanilla and a hint of oak; it is rich yet refined.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied, rounded and balanced on the palate; spicy accents balance the fruity sweetness and give it aromatic depth.
• Finish: The finish is long, combining an elegant character with oak and a light fruity note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Spey is located in Rothes in Speyside and was established in 1878 under the name Mill of Rothes. A purifier in the distillation system contributes to the slightly oily and nutty character of the spirit. The distillery supplied whisky for the Spey Royal and J&B blends; outside the Flora & Fauna range, Glen Spey is rarely available as a single malt.

Brave New Spirits released this whisky as an independent bottler within its Cask Masters series. For this range, the company selects Scotch whiskies according to origin, age and flavour balance. Each individually designed label depicts a stage of the whisky-making process.
