Special Features:

Maturation in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts gives this Speyside single malt its fruit, nut and oak notes. Glen Spey distilled the whisky in 2015; after nine years, independent bottler Signatory Vintage selected it for Edition 37 of its 100 Proof series.

Signatory Vintage bottled the whisky in 2025 at 57.1% in 0.7-litre bottles, without chill filtration or added colouring. Apples and damsons are joined by malty sweetness, cocoa, caramel and spiced oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers ripe apples and damsons alongside freshly baked fruit cake. Sweet malt and a subtle hint of dark cocoa complement the fruit.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and creamy on the palate. Plums and caramelised pears mingle with caramel, nutty pralines, toasted almonds and spiced oak.
• Finish: The long, harmonious finish lingers with stewed fruit, creamy caramel and toasted almonds. A dry hay note contrasts with the sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Spey is located in Rothes in Speyside. Founded in 1878 as Mill of Rothes, the distillery took its present name in 1887. Its stills have purifier pipes that return some of the vapour to the still. Most Glen Spey whisky goes into blends; standalone single malt bottlings are comparatively rare.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. The independent bottler selects casks from various distilleries for its own editions; since moving its operations to Pitlochry, it has been based at Edradour distillery. For this edition, Signatory Vintage selected a Glen Spey matured in Oloroso sherry butts and bottled the whisky in 2025.
