Special Features:

The cask selection for this ten-year-old whisky comprises Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks as well as red wine and virgin oak casks. Batch 13 is bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.8%, with no added colouring and without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially reveals mocha, crystallised ginger and cinnamon, followed by Manuka honey and muscovado sugar alongside dark sugar syrup and Maraschino cherries.
• Palate: Cocoa, salted caramel and warm honey come to the fore on the palate, followed by baking spices, blood orange and a molasses tart.
• Finish: Glazed blackberries and fig syrup linger in the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Ltd produces this Speyside single malt, and Batch 13 is an official bottling. Built in 1967 to plans by William Delmé-Evans, the distillery began production in 1968. Its largely gravity-fed design was intended to reduce energy requirements. Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson acquired the distillery from Chivas Brothers in 2017. Just nine months later, they released their first core range of the distillery’s single malts. Master Distiller Billy Walker composes each small batch in the Cask Strength series individually.
