Special Features:

For Batch 4, whisky from three Pedro Ximénez and two Oloroso sherry casks was combined. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.1%, without added colouring or chill filtration. Its pronounced sherry character is expressed through dark chocolate, honey, raisins, plum, almonds, baking spices and ripe fruit notes.

This limited edition is presented in a royal-blue presentation box with velour padding and gold-coloured details.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines dark chocolate, honeycomb and raisin butter with muscovado sugar, plum syrup and glazed almonds.
• Palate: On the palate, bold cocoa, heather honey and chocolate-covered raisins are followed by baking spices and molasses.
• Finish: The very long, warming finish evokes Black Forest gâteau, grape must, orchard fruits and mature spice notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

The whisky comes from the GlenAllachie distillery. For Batch 4, The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited combined the whisky from the five selected sherry casks and released it as an official distillery bottling. The Speyside distillery was built in 1967 and began production in 1968. Its malt was initially intended primarily for high-quality blended whiskies.

Billy Walker acquired the distillery in 2017 together with Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson; its first core range of proprietary single malts followed in 2018. Its current approach includes a 160-hour fermentation and continuous monitoring of the casks in storage. Billy Walker was responsible for selecting the five sherry casks for Batch 4.
