Special Features:

This 30-year-old Glenburgie was finished in first-fill Amontillado hogshead 212 after a long maturation. The spirit was distilled on 5 September 1995; Signatory Vintage bottled the single malt on 24 June 2026 under the Symington's Choice label as part of the Cask Strength Collection. The single cask yielded 338 bottles.

After three decades, its natural cask strength is 48.3%. The whisky was neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The Amontillado finish combines its mature fruit and honeyed sweetness with malt, nutty sherry influences, cocoa and structuring oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The bouquet reveals ripe peach and apple alongside dried figs and raisins. Honey and orange peel remain as subtle nuances in the background.
• Palate: Creamy and full-bodied on the palate, the whisky combines soft malt with the influence of the sherry cask. Caramel, roasted nuts and dark dried fruit complete the profile, while spices, structured oak and cocoa give it definition.
• Finish: The finish is long and fades with spicy oak, dark cocoa and Amontillado notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenburgie Distillery produced the Speyside single malt in this bottling. Glenburgie is one of the distilleries that play a defining role in the style of Ballantine's: its fruit-forward malt, accompanied by honeyed sweetness, contributes significantly to the blend's character. As a standalone single-cask bottling, this whisky brings the distillery character directly to the fore.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother; by 2007, the company had moved to the site of Edradour Distillery near Pitlochry. As an independent bottler, Signatory selects casks from various distilleries, oversees their continued maturation and bottles them under its own name. For this Glenburgie, Signatory was responsible for selecting hogshead 212, the Amontillado finish and the bottling as Symington's Choice.
