Special Features:

The defining feature of this 30-year-old single-cask bottling is its final finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. Glenburgie distilled the whisky on 5 September 1995; on 24 June 2026, Signatory Vintage bottled it from cask 105 for Symington's Choice as part of the Cask Strength Collection. Its natural cask strength is 51%. A total of 331 individually numbered bottles were produced, without added colouring or chill filtration.

Cask 105 was the Oloroso expression in a four-part comparison within the Symington's Choice range. In August 2026, Signatory Vintage released four 30-year-old Glenburgie single casks with different sherry-cask finishes. Alongside Oloroso, the selection included Pedro Ximénez, Palo Cortado and Amontillado.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, intense mature dried fruit, particularly raisins and figs, combines with dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Leather provides a subtler accent, accompanied by spicy oak and light vanilla.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and oily on the palate. Caramel and toffee meet dried plums, orange zest and cinnamon, while spicy oak gives it a dry contour.
• Finish: The finish is long and dry, with sherried fruit, dark chocolate, spice and oak. Overall, the whisky is non-smoky; only on the finish does the oak reveal a subtle smoky nuance.

Distillery/Bottler:

The single malt comes from Glenburgie Distillery near Forres in Speyside; a large proportion of its production goes into Ballantine's. The distillery operates six stills fitted with purifier pipes that return heavier vapours for redistillation. This additional distillation helps create the lighter, fruit-forward character of Glenburgie's spirit.

As an independent bottler, Signatory Vintage specialises in selecting, maturing and bottling individual casks from various distilleries. For Symington's Choice, founder Andrew Symington personally selects predominantly older single malts from the stocks in Pitlochry. For this release, Signatory Vintage selected Glenburgie cask 105, gave the whisky its Oloroso finish and then bottled it.
