Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 51.7% ABV | Chill filtration: No
Special Features:
This single-cask release matured for 27 years in a refill hogshead. Distilled at Glenburgie in June 1995, it was bottled in September 2022 at 51.7%, yielding 210 bottles. The whisky retains its natural colour and was not chill-filtered.
Grilled lemon and dark berries shape the opening. Citrus notes, black tea and warm honey follow on the palate, while a waxy note defines the finish.
Tasting Notes:
Distillery/Bottler:
Glenburgie Distillery produces a Speyside single malt that Ballantine’s describes as the heart of its blend and a particularly fruity contributor to its house style. The independent, family-run bottler North Star Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2016 by Iain Croucher. The company selects casks of Scotch whisky and bottles the whiskies matured in them. For this release, North Star Spirits issued the Glenburgie matured for 27 years in a refill hogshead as a limited run of 210 bottles.
