This single-cask bottling is part of North Star Spirits’ Single Cask Range 20. The Glenburgie was distilled in June 1995, matured for 27 years in a refill hogshead and bottled in September 2022 at 52.1%. The release comprises 220 bottles; the whisky has no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.

Apple and poached pear form the fruity side of this Speyside malt. Cider, wax, white pepper and oat biscuits add spicy, cereal and waxy accents.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Apple and poached pear define the nose.

• Finish: The finish is long and balanced.

Distillery/Bottler:

The whisky distilled in 1995 still came from the former Glenburgie distillery in Speyside. After 175 years of operation, the distillery was demolished in 2004 and rebuilt as a more highly automated facility. Glenburgie’s malt has long played a central role in Ballantine's.

North Star Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2016 by Iain Croucher and operates as an independent, family-run bottler. The company selects Scotch whiskies and casks for its own bottlings. For this Glenburgie release, North Star Spirits bottled the whisky at 52.1% after 27 years of maturation in a refill hogshead.
