Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No
Special Features:
Finishing in Portuguese White Port barriques defines this small batch. Glencadam marries Single Malt drawn from selected American oak ex-bourbon casks that rested in the distillery’s historic dunnage warehouses, then allows the marriage to mature further in the Port casks. This version is presented in packaging updated for 2026.
The White Port finish brings together strawberries and stone fruit with Chantilly cream, buttery malt and citrus oil. Summer berries, baked apple, golden raisins and raspberry jam follow.
White pepper, vanilla tartlets, honeycomb toffee and sandalwood give the finish a spicy, woody profile. This small batch is bottled at 46% in its natural colour, without chill filtration, in 0.7-litre bottles.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Lively strawberries and stone fruit mingle with Chantilly cream, buttery malt and citrus oils.
- Palate: Sweet layers of summer berries and baked apple meet golden raisins, raspberry jam and crisp brandy-snap-style biscuits.
- Finish: White pepper and vanilla tartlets give way to honeycomb toffee and lingering sandalwood.
Distillery/Bottler:
Glencadam Distillery in Brechin produces and bottles Reserva de Porto Branco itself. The distillery has belonged to Angus Dundee Distillers since 2003.
At Glencadam, the wort ferments in traditional Oregon pine washbacks. The new make then matures in casks held in the historic dunnage warehouses built in 1825, where bourbon, sherry, Port and wine casks are stored. Ex-bourbon casks from these stocks were selected for this bottling before the White Port finish followed.
