Special Features:

GlenDronach 12 matures for at least twelve years in a combination of Spanish Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. The PX casks contribute deep fruit sweetness, while the Oloroso casks add drier, nutty notes. The result is a distinctly sherry-led single malt that retains its fruity character.

Autumn fruit, raisins, orange, caramelised blackberries, chocolate praline and gingerbread show the whisky’s range, balanced by warm spices. It is bottled at 43% without added colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, autumn fruit, raisins and orange meet chocolate praline and gingerbread.
• Palate: On the palate, caramelised blackberries, orange and sultanas combine with toffee and warm spices; the texture is creamy, full-bodied and silky.
• Finish: The dry finish brings nutty notes alongside orange, cocoa, ginger and pepper.

Distillery/Bottler:

The GlenDronach was founded in 1826 in the Valley of Forgue by local farmers led by James Allardice. The distillery in the eastern Highlands developed an early association with maturation in sherry casks. Today, it uses Scottish larch washbacks, among other equipment, and stores casks in traditional dunnage warehouses.

After closing from 1996 to 2002, the distillery resumed production; in 2005, it changed the heating of its stills from coal to steam. The GlenDronach has been owned by Brown-Forman since 2016. Master Blender Rachel Barrie brings more than three decades of experience with casks to her work.
