Tasting Notes:
Nose: The nose reveals a rich berry sauce, complemented by autumn spices like cinnamon and ginger with a hint of sweet syrup. Sultanas combine with orange zest and toasted oak.
Palate: On the palate, sweet, stewed berry flavors lead to dark chocolate and lime zest. Brown sugar merges with roasted hazelnuts and subtle pepper.
Finish: The finish shows a medium body with lingering coffee bean notes and apple.
Distillery/Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail, founded in 1895 in Elgin, is the oldest continuously operating independent bottler in Scotland. The Urquhart family has been running the company since 1915 and specializes in bottling exquisite whiskies. Glenesk is the brand of the whisky produced at the distillery of the same name. Gordon & MacPhail is also known for owning the Benromach Distillery, which was acquired in 1993.
