This one-litre bottling combines Glenfarclas’s sherry-influenced Speyside style with an alcohol strength of 60% ABV. The number 105 refers to the historic British proof system and corresponds precisely to this strength. Introduced in 1968, Glenfarclas 105 was one of the first high-strength single malts to become a permanent release.

Sherry casks shape the whisky with fruit, dark caramel, nuttiness, spice and oak, while a slight oiliness complements its robust texture. It carries no age statement and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. A little water brings the spice and chocolate notes further forward.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together robust oak, apple, ripe pear and dark toffee with sweet cream pastries, citrus fruit and fresh woodland notes.
• Palate: The whisky is dry and assertive on the palate. Baked orange and lemon meringue pastry mingle with chocolate malt, raisins, pepper, oak and fruity sherry notes, while the texture is creamy and concentrated.
• Finish: The full finish evokes a spiced chocolate dessert. It is warming, surprisingly rounded for 60% ABV and leaves a long echo of spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Glenfarclas Distillery dates back to 1836. It has been owned and operated by the Grant family since 1865. The distillery double-distils its single malt in direct-fired stills, while selected European Oloroso sherry casks play a central role in maturation.
