Maturation entirely in Oloroso sherry casks shapes this 15-year-old Glenfarclas. Sweet sherry notes meet malt and fruit. This single malt belongs to the distillery’s Classic Range, presenting its sherry-led style in miniature format.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres of whisky at 46% alcohol. This Glenfarclas bottling is non-chill filtered and contains no added colouring; its golden amber colour comes from cask maturation. The bottle is offered without gift packaging.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfarclas is in Ballindalloch, in Scotland’s Speyside region, at the foot of Ben Rinnes. The Grant family has owned the distillery since John Grant bought it together with the neighbouring farm in 1865. This independent family business focuses on long-term cask maturation and a style distinctly shaped by sherry casks.

Glenfarclas uses malted barley, yeast and spring water from Ben Rinnes. Fermentation lasts around 72 hours. This is followed by double distillation in copper stills heated directly by natural gas. Moving chains inside the wash stills dislodge solid material from the bottom, preventing it from scorching. For maturation, the sherry casks filled with whisky are stored in traditional dunnage warehouses, stacked no more than three tiers high.
