Special Features:

This 15-year-old Speyside single malt belongs to the Perpetual Collection and brings together whisky matured in American oak, new American oak casks and European sherry casks. The three cask components are married in a large Solera Vat, which is only half emptied for each bottling before being replenished. Some of the existing whisky therefore remains in the vat and mingles with the newly added whiskies.

Vat 03 was developed exclusively for international travel retail and is bottled at 50.2%. This makes it stronger than the classic Glenfiddich 15 at 40%. Honeyed sweetness, dark fruit and marzipan combine with spicy sherry oak to create a full-bodied character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, heather honey and vanilla fudge combine with pronounced dark fruit notes.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky smooth and full-bodied on the palate. Sherry oak and marzipan combine with cinnamon and ginger.
• Finish: The finish is rich, with sweetness that lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfiddich is located in Dufftown in Scotland’s Speyside region and belongs to the family-owned company William Grant & Sons. William Grant began building the distillery in 1886, helped by his nine children. Spirit first flowed from its stills on Christmas Day in 1887. The company remains entirely family-owned today.

The Robbie Dhu spring played an important role in the choice of location. The Solera Vat process is one of Glenfiddich’s distinctive approaches to maturation and marrying: the classic 15-year-old single malt is also brought together in such a vat after cask maturation. Vat 03 continues this principle within the Perpetual Collection at a higher bottling strength and is an official Glenfiddich bottling.
