Special Features:

This limited 24-year-old bottling from Glengoyne’s White Oak range was matured entirely in American oak, using first-fill bourbon casks and new oak casks. Launched in 2024, the range opens the Oak Masters’ Series, which focuses on virgin oak from different regions of origin. Compared with the traditionally sherry-led range, its naturally golden colour and notes of vanilla, coconut, light fruit and oak come more prominently to the fore.

The long maturation brings together ripe orchard fruit and pastry notes with fresh citrus fruit, spices, chocolate and lingering oak. The bottling has a volume of 0.7 litres, is presented at 47.8% in gift packaging and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines vanilla and toasted oak with lemon cream, honey and plum jam. Desiccated coconut, spiced apple pastry and lime zest complement the ripe, creamy impression.
• Palate: Fresh lemon, lime cake and honeycomb meet tropical fruit on the palate. Oak gives the whisky structure, while star anise, chocolate and vanilla complete the balanced flavour profile.
• Finish: The long finish lingers with toffee apple, citrus notes, lime zest and oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glengoyne Distillery has operated at the foot of the Dumgoyne Hills in the southern Highlands since 1833. Its malted barley is air-dried, and the distillery uses a particularly slow distillation process to develop its clear, fruit-led style. The 24-year-old White Oak is a distillery bottling; Ian Macleod Distillers owns both the distillery and the brand.
