The twelve-year-old The Glenlivet Double Oak matures first in European oak and then in American oak casks. Oak spice and vanilla are part of its flavour profile. This edition has a French label and comes in gift packaging; the bottle contains 0.7 litres of whisky at 40% alcohol.

Its fruity Speyside character brings pineapple and banana together with peach, pear and floral hints of meadow flowers. Vanilla, caramel and mild oak complement the lighter fruits. The whisky is not smoky; it is chill-filtered and bottled with added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers pineapple and vanilla alongside a little honey, fresh grass and a mild, creamy malt note. A floral hint recalls a summer meadow.
• Palate: On the palate, pineapple, ripe peach and pear mingle with vanilla and toffee. The fruit tastes sweet, and the texture is soft.
• Finish: The finish is soft and long. Vanilla accompanies gently toasted, lightly spiced oak, while citrus freshness, marzipan and fresh hazelnuts linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

George Smith obtained a distilling licence in the Glenlivet valley in 1824, marking the beginning of The Glenlivet Distillery's history. The distillery is in Speyside. It uses mineral-rich water and distinctive lantern-shaped copper stills for its whiskies.

This twelve-year-old single malt comes from The Glenlivet Distillery and is an official distillery bottling. The Glenlivet has been part of Pernod Ricard's brand portfolio since 2001.
