Special Features:

This Glenlossie matured for 18 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel and belongs to The Single Malts of Scotland, Elixir Distillers’ single-cask range. Distilled on 20 February 2007, the whisky was bottled from cask no. 773 on 25 April 2025. The cask yielded 248 bottles of 0.7 litres each at 55% ABV. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Citrus peel, vanilla cream and green apple give the whisky a fresh, creamy character. Honeycomb and malt accompany pear and stone fruit, while oak spice and a hint of white pepper provide a spicy counterpoint. Glenlossie’s oily texture and the grassy character of its spirit remain evident in this fruit-led single cask.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals lemon zest, vanilla cream and crisp green apple, accompanied by a hint of honeycomb and malt.
• Palate: The whisky feels full-bodied and creamy on the palate. Sweet vanilla, juicy pear and ripe stone fruit combine with gentle oak spice and a hint of white pepper.
• Finish: The finish is medium-length, soft and slightly dry, with lingering vanilla, stewed apple and subtle oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Built in 1876, the Speyside distillery Glenlossie supplies most of its malt for blends; its own single malt bottlings are comparatively rare. Purifier pipes return heavier alcohol vapours from the spirit line for redistillation, contributing to the spirit’s oily texture. Long fermentation encourages its grassy notes.

Elixir Distillers selected cask no. 773 and bottled the whisky from it under its own The Single Malts of Scotland range. Since 2002, the independent bottler has sought out Scottish malt casks with distinctive character for this range. Its chosen single casks yield limited releases that are unlikely to be repeated in precisely the same form.
