Special Features:

The finish in a small Pedro Ximénez sherry octave is the defining feature of this bottling. In a smaller cask, the ratio of internal wood surface area to liquid volume is greater, allowing the whisky to interact more intensely with the wood. Here, this cask treatment combines Glenlossie's fresh and malty character with dried fruit, honey, chocolate and nutty notes.

The whisky was distilled at Glenlossie on 4 May 2017. After eight years and the PX sherry finish, Duncan Taylor bottled it in The Octave series on 20 January 2026. Cask 8950312 yielded just 59 bottles.

Duncan Taylor bottled the whisky at 55% in 0.7-litre bottles. The bottling has a natural colour and is non-chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, lightly grassy notes mingle with green apple and pear. Sweet dried fruit and honey complement the fresh character.
• Palate: The whisky is creamy and malty on the palate. Raisins and ripe plums are accompanied by a nutty spiciness.
• Finish: The finish is long, sweet and nutty. Dark chocolate and delicate woody notes linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenlossie is located near Elgin in Speyside. The distillery is known for a smooth, slightly sweet and oily style with floral and malty nuances. Much of its production goes into blended Scotch whisky, while its own single malt bottlings appear only rarely.

Duncan Taylor began as a cask broker in 1938 and today operates as an independent bottler in Huntly. The company handles cask selection and cask treatment there, as well as the maturation and bottling of its whiskies. For this Glenlossie, Duncan Taylor was responsible for the PX sherry octave finish and its release in The Octave series.
