For The Lasanta, Glenmorangie selected bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and extended the edition's maturation from twelve to 15 years. Whisky Creation Director Dr Bill Lumsden and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald were involved in the revision. This Highland single malt is bottled at 43%.

Honey, walnuts and raisins give it a sweet, nutty character. Toffee, cinnamon and clove meet dark chocolate, leather and oak; bitter orange marmalade and dates shape the long finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is rich and spicy, with mead, honeycomb and walnut alongside a hint of charcoal. A little water reveals clove blossoms and currant flowers, accompanied by chocolate-covered raisins, the aroma of baking bread and toffee.
• Palate: The palate has a spicy mouthfeel. Brazil nuts coated in toffee, molasses, cinnamon and clove mingle with charcoal, while leather, oak tannins and dark chocolate form the backdrop.
• Finish: The long finish lingers with bitter orange marmalade, dates and dark sugar syrup.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenmorangie Distillery is located in Tain in the Scottish Highlands. William and Anne Matheson began establishing the distillery in 1843. Its tall stills produce a delicate, fruity spirit that Glenmorangie matures for The Lasanta in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks before bottling it itself.
